Internet Safety: Teaching your children to surfYour children surf the Internet daily. It's a vast resource and can serve to support and enhance their learning experiences, like researching school science projects and book reports. In fact, the benefits are so numerous that the real dangers associated with Internet surfing are sometimes overlooked. To start the school year, Bright House Networks distributed useful training tools to all elementary and middle schools in our nine-county area to show parents and teachers how they can take charge and teach children to surf the Internet safely. Join other PTAs across Central Florida in teaching children about appropriate Internet use by presenting the following PowerPoint presentation at your school or posting it on your school's website. For help disseminating this information at your school, please send an email to sara.brady@mybrighthouse.com.

What’s In A Name? If It’s Bright House Networks Stadium, A Lot
The successful completion of Bright House Networks Stadium immediately yielded benefits for the University of Central Florida, its students, Bright House Networks, and the surrounding community. UCF, which has evolved to become known as a major university rather than a local commuter school, can boast of having a new and spectacular campus centerpiece, and so much more:
- The first-ever college football sellout with a first-game attendance of 45,622
- The highest average attendance of any Conference USA school, through week 11 of the 2007 season, at nearly 44,000 fans per game
For its part, Bright House Networks achieved many positive benefits both in its relationship with UCF, and also with the Central Florida community. To complement the stadium’s awesome new footprint, Bright House Networks opened a new campus retail store that achieved immediate success, and will serve as a prototype for others. Bright House Networks is also benefiting from a closer relationship with the community, with many local residents and UCF alumni commenting that “Bright House Networks did something really special.” |
